Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh

Waltham Singers, Colchester Choral Society, the Orwell Park School Choir, at Aldeburgh in Suffolk. 

Bullard  Canticle of Freedom

Commissioned by Colchester Choral Society for the new millennium. this is the 4th performance of this prayer for freedom and peace. Each of the four movements takes as its starting point one of the verses from the C19th Christmas hymn 'It Came Upon a Midnight Clear'.

Rehearsing Panufnik's Symfonia Sacra

Andrej Panufnik Symfonia Sacra

Andrej Panufnik was born in Poland in 1914, eventually becoming a naturalised British citizen. Sinfonia Sacra was composed in 1963 as a tribute to Poland's Millennium of Christianity and Statehood. It comprises 3 Visions followed by a Hymn, the Bogurodzica, which is the oldest in the Polish language sung in church and on the battlefield.

Walton Belshazzar's Feast

Written in 1930 for the 1931 Leeds Festival Belshazzar's Feast is spectacular in its use of choirs, brass bands and percussion.
